Import The Demo Content
Companion comes with 4 unique demos and if you are new to designing and developing websites, importing a demo can be the perfect starting point.
The easiest way to import one of the available demos is to use the One-Click Demo Import tool. The Demo Importer tool will be available only after you have activated your copy of Companion.
It is recommended to import a demo from a fresh new installation of WordPress.
Before Importing Companion Demos
Before importing one of the demos available in Companion it is advisable to check the following list. All these queues are important and will ensure that the import of a demo ends successfully.
Theme Activation – Please make sure to activate your Companion copy to be able to access the demo import tool
Theme Update – Ensure that you are running the most recent version of the theme
Core Plugins – If Consulting core plugins are active on your website, make sure they are up to date
Plugins – Is recommended to disable all plugins such as plugins to manage the cache, plugins to manage SEO, etc … You will reactivate your personal plugins later as soon as the import process is finished.
Requirements for Demo Importing
To correctly import a demo please make sure that your hosting is running the following features:
WordPress 6.0+
PHP 7.4+
MySQL 5.6+
Recommended PHP Configuration Limits
max_execution_time 600
memory_limit 256M
post_max_size 64M
upload_max_filesize 64M
Import Demo Content Steps
Companion comes with the One-Click Demo Import tool so easily start with content in the right way.
Step-1. Navigate to Companion > Demo Import section
Step-2. Hover over the demo thumbnail to launch the demo import tool.
NOTE: All demo site images are replaced with placeholder images due to licensing restrictions.
Each demo layout requires a number of plugins to function properly. Fortunately, StylemixThemes has made it easy for you to install the plugins and they will be installed automatically during the demo setup proceed.
Step-3. Click Import Demo and select the items you want to be imported.
There are two sections: Used Plugins and Demo Content. Check the options you want to import.
Step-4. Click the Start Import button in order to start the import process.
Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, it may take some time to install all the plugins and import the demo content.
Once the import progress reaches 100% you can start to edit your content and set up the theme settings in Theme Options.
What if the Import fails or stalls?
If the import stalls and fails to respond after a few minutes You are suffering from PHP configuration limits that are set too low to complete the process. You should contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:

post_max_size 32M
upload_max_filesize 32M
You can verify your PHP configuration limits by navigating the Companion Dashboard > System Status section.
