# Motors Setup Wizard

The **Motors Setup Wizard** helps users configure the Motors plugin quickly and efficiently, enabling the creation of automotive listings with ease. The wizard is optional, taking only a few minutes, and can be accessed again anytime to adjust settings.

## Step-by-Step Guide

After activating the **Motors Plugin** on your WordPress, you will be redirected to the Motors Setup Wizard. You can skip the wizard or continue by clicking **Start Plugin Setup:**

### **Step 1:** Add Custom Fields

In the first step, you will be allowed to add [**Custom Fields**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/custom-fields) to your platform. You can use the **Preview buttons** to check how they will look. Fill in the required fields and click on the Save button. After that, your custom field will be saved, and the form will be cleared so you can add another custom field until you enter all the necessary custom fields.&#x20;

Note that the plugin comes with prebuilt ready-to-use custom fields (such as Make, Model, Condition, Transmission, etc). You can freely edit them.

Proceed to the next step after configuring the custom fields by clicking the Next Step button.

* **Singular Name** - enter the name of the custom field in its singular form.
* **Plural Name** - enter the plural form of the custom field name.
* **Field Type** - select the type of input for the custom field: dropdown select or number.
  * Dropdown - accepts both text and numbers
  * &#x20;Number -  accepts the numerical values
* **Choose Icon** - assign an icon to visually represent the custom field.  You can select the icons from [**Font Awesome**](https://fontawesome.com/) or use the **Motors Icon pack** by clicking the **Add Icon** button. There is also an availability to add your custom icons as well.
* **Show in Filter** - enable or disable this field's inclusion in the [**search filter**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-filters). Check the box to display it in the filters and use **Preview** to see how it will appear.
* **Manage Options** - add and manage the options for the selected field type. Enter the option title and click **Add** to include it in the list.

### **Step 2: Search Results**

This section configures how the[ **search results page**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-results-page) will appear.  Adjust settings like currency settings, default view, and more:

* **Default desktop view for the listing page** - Select the way you want to display your listing page by default for desktop view. You can choose between a **Grid** or **List** layout.
* **Compare button** - Enable or disable the[ compare button](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-results-page/listing-info-card#compare-button) feature. When this is turned on, users will see a separate button in the listings, allowing them to compare multiple vehicles side by side.
* **Add to favorites button** - Enable or disable the [add-to-favorites](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-results-page/listing-info-card#add-to-favorites-button) feature. When enabled, users can hover over the listing image and save their favorite listings to easily access them later.
* **Currency settings** - Configure the [currency options](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-results-page/currency) for your listings. This includes selecting the - **Currency Name** (e.g., USD, EUR) and **Currency Symbol** (e.g., $, €) that will be used throughout your site.
* **Currency Position** - Choose the placement of the currency symbol relative to the price. Options include placing the symbol to the **Left** or **Right** of the price.
* **Decimal & thousands of separators** - Set the symbols used for separating decimals and thousands in listing prices. For example, you can set commas(`,`) as thousands of separators and periods (`.`) as decimal separators or vice versa, depending on your region's formatting preferences.
* **Image sliding on Hover (**:star:[**Pro Feature**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/getting-started/free-version-and-pro-version)**)** - Enable or disable the[ image slider on hover](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/search-filter/search-results-page/general#image-sliding-on-hover-pro-feature) functionality. When turned on, hovering over the listing image will preview multiple images as a slider.

### **Step 3: Profile**

The **Profile Settings** step lets you manage user registrations, and email verification, and set limits on listings and images. It also allows enabling pre-moderation for admin approval before publishing listings.

* **New user registration** - Allows new users to sign up for the platform.
* **Email confirmation** - enables to send an email to new users to verify their account after registration.
* **Free listing submission** - Enables users to submit listings for free.
* **Listing publication limit** - Set the maximum number of images allowed per listing.
* **Image limit per listing** - Set the maximum number of images for each free listing submission.
* **Listing premoderation** - Requires admin approval before listings are published.

### **Step 4: Motors Skins**

In this step, you can install the [**Motors Skins**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/motors-skins/motors-starter-theme) with one click or continue with your current theme:

### **Step 5: Install Plugins**

**The motors plugin** integrates with essential plugins to enhance its functionality. During this step, you will be prompted to install the required and recommended plugins.

Please, while installing plugins **do not close** the tab and wait patiently for the **confirmation message.** This may result in your WordPress being in maintenance mode.

### Step 6: Listing Details Page

Choose one of the available[ **listing details page styles**](https://docs.stylemixthemes.com/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/single-listing/listing-templates). It is the page where all of the listing (vehicle) information will be displayed:
