Students

The Students tab consists of only one My Students table and gives a comprehensive overview of all the students enrolled in the instructor's courses. This section allows course instructors to track learner engagement, manage student progress, and access detailed information about each student's activity. Below is an explanation of the key features found within the Students tab.

My Students Table
  • Name - The name of each student.

  • Enrollments - The total number of courses the student is enrolled in.

  • Reviews - The number of course reviews left by the student.

  • Joined - The date when the student registered on the platform.

  • Detailed Report - Click the button to get brief information about the selected student.

Engagement

The Engagement tab provides a comprehensive overview of how students are interacting with the instructor's content. It tracks key engagement metrics like enrollments, course progress, and assignment completion, giving valuable insights into student behavior and course effectiveness. This data helps identify areas where students are engaged or struggling, enabling targeted interventions to improve learning outcomes.

Top Summary Metrics

Top Summary Metrics of Engagement
  • New Courses - The number of new courses added within the selected date range.

  • Enrollments - The total number of enrollments across all courses during the period.

  • Certificates Given - Indicates the number of certificates issued to students who completed courses.

  • New Assignments - The number of new assignments added within the specified timeframe.

  • New Lessons - The total number of new lessons added to courses.

  • New Group Courses - Shows the number of new group courses introduced.

  • New Trial Courses - Indicates whether any trial courses were introduced during the period.

  • New Quizzes - The number of new quizzes added.

Enrollments Chart

This line graph tracks enrollment activity over time. The graph shows the total enrollments and distinguishes unique enrollments, helping identify peak days of student activity.

Total - the total number of enrollments. Unique - the number of unique enrollments. Once a student registers and immediately buys the course, it is called unique enrollment.

The colors of the graph will be inherited from MasterStudy LMS settings.

Enrollments by Status and Assignments Engagement

Pie charts visually represent the current status of enrollments and assignment engagement:

  • Enrollments by status

    • Not Started - The percentage of students who have not begun their courses.

    • In Progress - The percentage of students actively working on their courses.

    • Completed - The percentage of students who have finished their courses.

  • Assignments Engagement

    • Total Assignments - The number of assignments involved.

    • In Progress - Assignments that students are currently working on.

    • Pending for Review - Assignments that are awaiting grading.

    • Passed - Assignments successfully completed.

    • Failed - Assignments that were not successfully completed.

This table provides details on course-specific engagement metrics:

  • In Progress: The number of students currently working through the course.

  • Completed: The number of students who have completed the course.

  • Expired: The number of courses that have expired for certain students.

  • Date Created: The date when the course was first created.

  • Detailed Report Button - Click on the button to open the detailed report of the selected course

Analytics for Instructors

Overview of Analytics for Instructors

The Advanced Analytics feature for instructors provides detailed insights into the performance and engagement of the courses, students, and instructors' content. Similar to Analytics for Admin, this feature also is organized into four key tabs and two sub-tabs:

  • Revenue

  • Engagement

  • Students

  • Reviews

    • Detailed Report for the Course

    • Detailed Report of the Student

There is also an availability to receive weekly or monthly recurring emails to get notifications.

How to Enable Analytics for Instructors?

  1. To turn on the Advanced Analytics for Instructors, follow WP Dashboard > MasterStudy LMS > Settings > Reports & Analytics:

  1. Turn on Reports for Instructors setting. You can also enable Show payout statistics to instructors according to your needs

  • Reports for Instructors - enable to display the advanced analytics to instructors.

  • Show payout statistics to instructors - enable to display of payout statistics for instructors in the Revenue tab.

How to Access Advanced Analytics as Instructor?

Follow the Instructors Dashboard and open Analytics:

Hide/Show Statistics

Using the gear icon on the top right corner you can choose which information to show in every analytics tab:

Date Range

In the top right corner of each tab, you’ll find a date range selector that allows you to specify the period for which you want to view the statistics:

You can manually select the custom dates or use the available preset date ranges:

  • Today - Quickly view the statistics for the current day.

  • Yesterday - Displays the data for the previous day.

  • This Week - Shows statistics for the current week.

  • Last Week - Provides data for the previous week.

  • This Month - Displays data for the current month.

  • Last Month - Shows statistics from the previous month.

  • This Year - Provides an overview of statistics for the current year.

  • Last Year - Displays data for the previous year.

  • Navigation Arrows - Use the left and right arrows to move between months when selecting dates.

  • Reset Button - Resets the date range back to the default setting, allowing you to start fresh with a standard period.


Detailed Report for the Course

This page provides a comprehensive breakdown of this specific instructor's course revenue, enrollment trends, assignments engagement, and lesson performance. The data gives insights into student progress, financial success, and areas where improvements or interventions may be needed.

  • Revenue - Displays the total revenue generated from this course

  • Enrollments - Shows the total number of enrollments

  • Orders - Indicates the number of orders placed for this course

  • Lessons - Displays the number of lessons included in this course

  • Reviews - Indicates the number of reviews received for this course

  • Certificates Given - Shows how many certificates have been issued for this course

These graphs show the enrollment and preorder trends for the course over time.

Total - the total number of enrollments. Unique - the number of unique enrollments. Once a student registers and immediately buys the course, it is called unique enrollment.

Student Engagement by Lessons Table

Displays the lessons of the course in columns and students in rows and illustrates the completion status of the lessons by students.

  • ❌ - failed the assignment or quiz

  • ✅ - completed the lesson or passed the assignment/quiz

You can the filtering, sorting, and searching options at the top of the table

These sections offer a snapshot of student progress and performance. They highlight how many students are at different stages of the course (not started, in progress, completed) and how well they are doing on assignments, providing a clear view of overall engagement and success in the course.

Lessons Engagement

  • Lesson Name - The name of each lesson

  • Completed - The percentage of students who completed each lesson

  • Dropped - The percentage of students who dropped each lesson

  • Not Completed - The percentage of students who haven’t completed the lessons

  • Total - The total number of students enrolled for each lesson

  • Lesson Type - Indicate the type of the lesson

  • Date Created - The date the lesson was created

This page gives a comprehensive view of the student’s engagement, progress, and performance across courses, quizzes, and assignments, along with additional metrics that provide insight into their overall activity on the platform.

Courses Overview

This section provides an overview of the student’s engagement with the courses:

  • Completed - Shows how many courses the student has finished

  • In Progress - Reflects the number of courses currently being worked on by the student

  • Not Started - Highlights the courses that the student has enrolled in but has not yet begun

The graph shows the timeline of when the student started engaging with courses and tracks their progress over time.

Course Progress Table

This table details each course the student is enrolled in:

  • Course Name - The title of each course

  • Duration - The estimated time required to complete the course

  • Started - The date when the student began the course

  • Progress - The percentage of the course that the student has completed, represented visually with a progress bar

Quizzes and Assignments

This section tracks the student’s performance on quizzes and assignments:

  • Passed ✅ - The number of quizzes/assignments the student successfully completed

  • Failed ❌ - The number of quizzes/assignments the student did not pass

Additional Metrics

  • Bundles - Indicates the number of course bundles the student is enrolled in

  • Certificates Given - Shows the number of certificates the student has received after completing courses

  • Points - Displays the total points earned by the student, which could be related to platform engagement or rewards.

Revenue

The revenue tab offers a summary of instructors' financials, covering total revenue, orders, and membership sales. Visuals include trend graphs, pie charts, and revenue breakdowns by-products and students. It also tracks payouts and platform commissions. Detailed tables enable in-depth analysis of the course, group, bundle, and students, helping to monitor performance and spot revenue trends.

  • Revenue - Displays the total revenue generated

  • Courses - Shows the revenue generated specifically from courses

  • Bundles - Indicates the revenue from selling

  • Orders - Shows the total number of made

Revenue Chart

The following graph illustrates the total revenue (Y-axis) by the period (X-axis) that you specified. You can hover over the dots to get exact data.

Earning by Product, New or Existing Students, and Payouts

  • By Product - A visual representation of revenue distribution between courses and bundles

  • By New vs Existing Students - Highlights how much revenue comes from new versus returning students

  • *Processed Payouts - Tracks the received payouts and the commission kept by the platform


*to get this statistic, the admin should enable the setting.

Revenue Tables

Revenue Breakdown by Course: Lists individual courses along with enrollment numbers, total revenue, views, and course creation dates.

  • Course Name - The title of the course

  • Enrollments - The number of students enrolled in each course

  • Revenue - The total revenue generated from each course

  • Views - The number of times the course has been viewed. This can be useful for assessing how much interest the course is generating compared to its enrollments and revenue

  • Course Created - The date and time when the course was initially created

  • Detailed Report Button - Click on the button to open the of the selected course

Revenue Breakdown by : The table in the Revenue tab provides a detailed breakdown of revenue generated by different groups.

  • Group Name - The name of the group, such as "Ninjas" or "First Group."

  • Orders - The number of orders placed by the group, representing purchases made.

  • Courses - The number of courses associated with each group.

  • Students - The total number of students enrolled within each group.

  • Revenue - The total revenue generated from each group.

Revenue Breakdown by This table helps users quickly assess the financial performance of different course bundles. It highlights which bundles are driving the most sales and revenue.

  • Bundle Name - The title of the course bundle

  • Orders - The number of orders placed for each bundle

  • Courses Inside - The number of courses included in each bundle

  • Revenue - The total revenue generated from each bundle.

Revenue Breakdown by Students: This table in the Revenue tab provides a breakdown of revenue generated by individual students. It highlights which students are the most valuable in terms of revenue.

  • Name - The name of the student

  • Total Orders - The number of orders placed by each student

  • Courses - The number of individual courses purchased by the student

  • Bundles - The number of bundles purchased by the student

  • Purchased Group Courses - The number of group courses purchased by the student

  • Revenue - The total revenue generated from each student’s purchases

  • Detailed Report Button - Click on the button to open the of the selected student

Reviews

The Reviews tab provides an in-depth look at user feedback across courses, with tools to analyze trends, track top reviewers, and manage review content. The combination of visual graphs and detailed tables allows administrators to monitor the quality of courses, identify areas for improvement, and recognize highly engaged users. The data is sorted and categorized in a way that makes it easy to understand the overall sentiment and prioritize course enhancements.

Reviews Chart

This line graph displays the total number of reviews submitted over the selected date range. Peaks indicate days with higher review activity, while drops show lower engagement.

Reviews Types Chart

This stacked line graph categorizes reviews by star ratings (1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, 4 stars, 5 stars), showing how the distribution of ratings changes over time. The color-coded lines make it easy to track positive or negative trends in feedback.

The colors of the graph will be inherited from MasterStudy LMS settings.

Top Reviewed Courses

This table lists the courses that received the most reviews:

  • Course Name - The title of each course.

  • Reviews - The number of reviews received for each course.

This section helps identify courses that are receiving the most feedback and engagement from students.

Top Reviewers

This table highlights the most active reviewers on the platform:

  • Student Name - The name of each reviewer.

  • Reviews - The number of reviews submitted by each student.

This section showcases the students who contribute the most feedback and can be useful for tracking highly engaged users.

Reviews Tables

This section is divided into two tabs: Posted and Pending Review. Posted reviews are visible to other users while pending reviews await moderation or approval.

Only the admin can publish the reviews.

This table provides details about the most recent reviews submitted:

  • User - The name of the user who submitted the review.

  • Course - The title of the course being reviewed.

  • Review - A short excerpt of the feedback provided by the user.

  • Rating - The star rating assigned by the reviewer.

  • Date Created - The date and time the review was submitted.

The table in the Reviews tab displays reviews that are pending moderation:

  • User - The name of the user who submitted the review

  • Course - The title of the course being reviewed

  • Review - A brief excerpt or summary of the user’s feedback

  • Rating - The star rating given by the user, ranging from 1 to 5 stars

  • Date Created - The date and time when the review was submitted
