# Sidebar Setup

A sidebar is a static column of widgets that appears next to the main site content.

For customization and adding widgets to your site's sidebar, please go to **Appearance > Widgets.** 

The sidebar usually consists of a search field, recent posts, a cart, categories, and a good deal of other stuff to have them handy.
