# Update The Plugin

This manual is for those who bought the **Motors Pro** plugin from our [official website](https://r.freemius.com/16354/4723181/). If you purchased the Motors Pro plugin from **Deal platforms** (e.g.: DealFuel, AppSumo), you have to follow [**this manual**](/motors-car-dealer-classifieds-and-listing/getting-started/pro-plugin-deal-platforms.md#how-to-update-the-pro-plugin) to update the Pro plugin.

We constantly improve our products and release regular updates.  When you find out there is a new updated version, you need to update the plugin.

Both **Free** and **Pro** versions follow the same steps in updating the plugin.

You can update the plugin in two different easy ways.

Firstly, go to **Plugins > Installed Plugins page,** there you will see the warning notification bar at the bottom. You have to update the plugins in the **following order**:

1. Motors – Car Dealer, Classifieds & Listing
2. Motors – Car Dealer, Classifieds & Listing **Pro**

Press the link <mark style="color:purple;">**update now**</mark> to update the plugin.

Do **NOT** close the tab until you get the **Succes** or **Error** message. Closing the page while updating causes WordPress to move the **Maintenance mode** which makes your site **inaccessible.**&#x20;

#### Preventing Automatic Updates

To avoid potential critical errors after updates, it is recommended to disable automatic plugin updates. Despite our thorough testing, unforeseen issues may still occur.
